On October 11th 2015, a research team at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology found a new way to be able to wear light diodes in your everyday clothing. They found a new way of doing this since the old way was tougher to be able to wear. The traditional way to wear the displays was to make them, then be attached to a board onto the fabric. The new technology they have found is to take organic material to use as the “board” to attach the diodes to. This way it will be easier to wear instead of on top of the shirt it is practically imbedded into the fibers. The researchers said “this technology would accelerate the commercialization of fiber based wearable displays since it offers low-cost mass production”.
This is a new way to make clothes that could light up and stand out more. If the researchers pull through and finish this wonderful idea they could have a low cost way to make them too. People can basically advertise on their own clothes but with lights. That will definitely catch the eye of customers.
I Like this because the boards re made from all organic material so it’s not bad for the environment if the diodes fall off.
